Even in the brush, a bit of 3x,4x, or 5x can help punch through intermediate vegetation for PID. Regarding bayonets on ARs, your options are mlok or pic rail adapters like from Sig or Geiselle, or you get an upper with an FSB and get a two piece rail like Midwest makes. I like keeping options open for additional enablers. Full topside pic rail. Good discussion.
